A young man was killed after falling from the roof of a moving commuter train bound for Jamalpur in Mymensingh on Saturday (31 May).
The deceased was identified as Rubel Mia, 32, son of Abdul Malek from Daporpara area of Dewanganj upazila in Jamalpur district. He worked at a wall clock manufacturing factory in Dhaka.
Confirming the incident, Mymensingh Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Akhtar Hossain said the Dewanganj Commuter train, which had departed from Dhaka, was passing through the Sankipara-Itakhola area of the city when Rubel, who was travelling on the train roof, accidentally fell off. He was run over by the train wheels and died on the spot.
Upon receiving information, railway police rushed to the scene and recovered the body.
OC Akhtar Hossain added that the body was handed over to the victim’s family without an autopsy at their request.
