Fuel prices rise again

Staff Reporter:

The government has increased fuel prices again at the consumer level.

For June, the prices of petrol, octane and kerosene have been raised by Tk5 per litre.

The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources announced the decision in a notification on Sunday night.

According to the notification, the retail prices have been revised in line with fluctuations in fuel prices in the international market.

Under the revised rates, diesel has been fixed at Tk115 per litre, octane at Tk145 per litre, petrol at Tk140 per litre and kerosene at Tk135 per litre.

The new prices will come into effect from Monday (1 June).

Earlier, the government raised the prices of all types of fuel oils in the country on 18 April. Fuel prices in the domestic market are generally adjusted every month in line with movements in the international market.
