Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Friday ordered departmental action against two officials of the Dhaka north and south city corporations for negligence in removing sacrificial animal waste after Eid-ul-Azha.
The officials are – Dhaka North City Corporation (Zone-5) Zonal Executive Officer Md Sadequr Rahman, and Dhaka South City Corporation (Zone-1) Zonal Executive Officer Quazi Saleh Mustanzir.
This development comes as the prime minister visited different parts of the capital this afternoon to personally inspect ongoing operations for removing sacrificial animal waste.
Confirming the matter, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Mir Shahe Alam told the media that the prime minister found sacrificial waste and previously accumulated garbage on the streets during his inspection in the Hatirpool and Elephant Road areas, as well as in Green Road, Farmgate and Karwan Bazar.
He added that Tarique Rahman ordered the immediate attachment of the two officers to the Ministry of Public Administration and directed departmental action against them for negligence of duty.
