Three passengers of a CNG-run autorickshaw were killed and two others injured after a bus hit the autorickshaw on the Dhaka-Rajshahi Highway in Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj on Tuesday evening.
The incident took place around 7pm.
Identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately.
Solonga Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Aslam Ali said the CNG-run autorickshaw was heading toward Sirajganj town from Solonga with passengers on board.
When the vehicle reached the area in front of the RAB-12 headquarters at Charia, a Rajshahi-bound bus coming from the opposite direction hit the autorickshaw, leaving three people dead on the spot, he said.
The injured were rescued and taken to hospital, the OC added.
