RCC attains 100% success in M-R vaccination campaign

Rajshahi: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has achieved 100 percent success in the measles-rubella (M-R) vaccination campaign conducted across the ci0ty area under its management.
In this campaign carried out at school and community levels in Rajshahi city, more children than the set target were vaccinated.
According to RCC’s Health Department, the total target for school and community levels in Rajshahi metropolitan area was 54,886. Against this, 57,370 children received the measles-rubella vaccine, which is 104.53 percent of the total target.
On achieving the vaccination target, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton expressed sincere thanks and gratitude to officials of the government’s Health Department, concerned officials of the World Health Organization and UNICEF, RCC Health Department officials and staff, health workers, EPI supervisors, team leaders, volunteers, teachers, guardians, and the aware city residents.
The measles-rubella vaccination campaign is extremely important to ensure a healthy and safe future for children. The vaccination program by Rajshahi City Corporation is ongoing. Directives have been given to ensure that no child remains outside vaccination coverage.”
The RCC Administrator said, “Our target for the first phase has already been met. I extend my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to everyone involved for this success.”
It is to be noted that from April 20, 2026 to May 10, 2026, the first phase of the measles-rubella vac-cination campaign was conducted at a total of 438 centers at school and community levels under the management of Rajshahi City Corporation, with set targets.
As per government decision, the vaccination period has been extended until May 20.
Currently, door-to-door mop-up activities are underway. Through this, children who have not yet been vaccinated are being identified and immunized, and rapid convenience monitoring is being conducted and uploaded online immediately.
