Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Ehsanul Islam passed the order after the case investigation officer, DB Police Inspector Md Amjad Hossain Talukder, produced the accused before the court and sought a fresh seven-day remand.

Earlier, he was arrested on 9 April from Mohakhali DOHS area. Since then, he has been placed on remand in several phases in different cases.

According to the case statement, during the July movement on 5 August 2024, Rubel, along with several hundred students and civilians, brought out a protest procession in the Adabor Police Station area.
