Fuel prices to remain unchanged in May

Staff Reporter:

The government has decided to keep fuel prices unchanged for May amid rising global market trends.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Division conveyed the decision to the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) through a letter on Thursday.

Under the current pricing structure, diesel is priced at Tk115 per litre, kerosene at Tk130, octane at Tk140, and petrol at Tk135.

Earlier on 18 April, the government increased retail fuel prices, aligning them with rising global oil prices.

The recent instability in global energy markets, driven by heightened tensions in the Middle East following joint US-Israel attacks on Iran, has contributed to volatility in international fuel prices.
