1,01,000 tonnes of diesel, octane arrive at Ctg port

Three oil tankers carrying 1,01,000 tonnes of diesel and octane yesterday reached outer anchorage in Chattogram, according to an official familiar with the process.
“The ships, in Bangladesh’s waterways, will gradually dock at the jetty and fuel will be discharged soon,” Farzin Hassan Moumita, Assistant Manager (Mass Communication, Additional Charge) of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) told yesterday.
She expected that through the unloading of those ships, fuel supply will be normal in the country.
Talking to Mohammad Zahid Hossain, General Manager (Commerce and Operations) of BPC, said the oil tankers include MT Lian Song Hu carrying about 41,000 tonnes of diesel, MT Pacific Indigo carrying about 33,000 tonnes of diesel and MT Nav Cielo carrying about 27,000 tonnes of octane.
He said oil tanker MT Lian Song Hu carrying about 41,000 tonnes of diesel and MT Pacific Indigo car-rying about 33,000 tonnes of diesel came from India, while MT Nave Cielo carrying about 27,000 tonnes of octane from Taiwan.
Besides, in the last 19 days, the BPC has taken 15,170 tonnes of octane produced by three local private companies. Of the companies, Super Petro PLC supplied the highest quantity of 11,615 tonnes of octane, Moumita said.
Meanwhile, fuel has been started unloading from two another tankers ‘MT Oaktree’ carrying about 35,000 tonnes of diesel and ‘MT Cape Bonnie’ carrying about 33,000 tonnes of diesel at Dolphin Jetty on Monday.
