37,000-litre diesel seized from vessel in Chattogram

Authorities seized an illegal stockpile of 37,000-litre diesel from an oil tanker in the Karnaphuli river, Chattogram city on Thursday.

The vessel was docked at the Sadarghat area in the district.

Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) Secretary Syed Refayet Hamim confirmed the seizure to reporters, adding a lawsuit is being pursued over the hoarding.

Earlier, tipped off, joint forces from CPA, the Coast Guard, and the Navy launched a drive in the Sadarghat area and recovered the diesel from a floating vessel.
