Staff Reporter:
The Bangladesh Embassy in Doha has issued a special security alert for Bangladeshi expatriates living in Qatar amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following the Iran–Israel conflict.
The advisory was issued through an emergency notice on Saturday.
The embassy urged expatriates to avoid going outdoors unnecessarily and to stay away from military installations. They have been requested to remain in safe locations until the situation returns to normal.
Considering possible emergency circumstances, expatriates have been advised to keep essential items with them at all times, including their Qatar ID (QID), health card, necessary medicines, dry food, cash and mobile phone chargers.
In the notice, the embassy also called on expatriates to remain respectful of Qatar’s local laws. They have been specifically asked not to upload any photos or videos related to the war situation on social media, as doing so may violate existing laws in Qatar. The embassy urged everyone to exercise maximum caution in this regard.
For any emergency assistance, expatriates have been advised to contact the embassy hotline at +974 33662000 or via email at mission.doha@mofa.gov.bd.
