Cabinet Committee formed for ‘Family Card’ project

Staff Reporter:

The government has formed a Cabinet Committee to launch a pilot project aimed at supporting low-income and marginalised people.

Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury would lead the committee as its president.

Under the pilot project, family cards will be distributed in one upazila from each of the eight divisions of the country. Names of the selected eight upazilas have yet to be disclosed.

The Cabinet Committee has been asked to submit a primary report by 24 February on expediting the card distribution across the country before the Eid-ul-Fitr.
