3 minors drown while bathing in Pabna pond

Pabna: Three children drowned in a pond in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna on Saturday.
Jahid Hossain, 10, son of Bachhu Mandal, Hridoy Hossain, 10, son of Pangjhu Promanik, and Anika Khatun, 11, daughter of Akijal Hossain, were residents of Sara Gopalpur village under the upazila.
Locals said the trio went into the pond of one Manik Hajji by their house to take baths around 2:30pm. They started drowning while swimming in the pond.
Noticing the matter, a passerby informed their families and locals of the incident.
Later their bodies were recovered and rushed to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex where physicians de-clared them dead, confirmed Aurbinda Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Ishwardi police station.
