Voters track results on mobile with new EC app

Staff Reporter:

The Election Commission has launched a mobile app to deliver election results quickly and accurately to voters across Bangladesh. The app, titled Smart Election Management BD, allows users to view real-time results and access key electoral information directly from their phones.

Officials introduced the app to improve transparency and ensure easy public access to national and local election updates.

Voters can download the app on both Android and iOS platforms. Users can search for “Smart Election Management BD” on Google Play Store or Apple App Store, install the app and open it to begin using the service.

Users do not need to log in to view general election results. However, the app requires a voter ID or National Identity Card number for access to personalised voter information or detailed EVM-related data. After logging in, users can check voter records, status and polling centre details.

To view results, users can tap on the “Election Results” or “Voting Results” option on the home screen. They can then select the type of election — parliamentary, upazila, municipality or union — followed by district and upazila or ward.

The app provides live updates based on individual polling centres. As counting concludes at each centre, officials upload results directly to the platform. Users can see total votes, candidate- or party-wise breakdowns and percentage shares.

The app also presents results through graphs and charts, allowing users to understand candidate standings easily. Live updates enable voters to track progress step by step throughout the counting process.
