Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury yesterday said Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2 has significantly strengthened law and order across the country, leading to the arrest of 22,464 crime suspects.
The arrests have been made since the operations launch on December 13, 2025 and as of January 25, 2026.
Speaking at a Core Committee meeting on law and order at the Home Ministry in the Bangladesh Secre-tariat, the Home Adviser said that the operation has also resulted in the recovery of 483 firearms, 4,660 rounds of bullets, 799 cartridges, 1,084 indigenous weapons, along with grenades, mortar shells, gunpowder, fireworks and bomb-making materials.
Overall, 64,628 people have been arrested across the country, including 42,164 on specific charges and warrants, he added.
