Police Headquarters recently issued a letter directing that no unit chief may leave their workplace without prior approval, labeling any such act as “indiscipline”.
The letter was signed by Khandaker Shamima Yesmin, additional DIG of the Personal Management-1 branch of Police Headquarters.
The letter noted that some unit chiefs have recently left their workplaces without prior permission, which is contrary to police discipline.
It instructs that unit chiefs must obtain prior approval from the IGP before leaving their posts for leave or any other purpose.
The letter was sent to all unit chief’s including the DMP commissioner, RAB director general, Special Branch chief, all Range DIGs, all Metropolitan Police commissioners, and all superintendents across the country.
