Staff Reporter:
The National Implementation Committee for Administrative Reforms (NICAR) yesterday approved a proposal to form two administrative divisions under the Ministry of Finance, namely the ‘Reve-nue Policy Division’ and the ‘Revenue Management Division’ aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the government’s revenue collection and management system.
The NICAR gave the approval at its 119th meeting at the State Guest House Jamuna yesterday with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair.
This was the first NICAR meeting held during the tenure of the interim government.
After the meeting, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam briefed the media at the Foreign Service Academy here this afternoon.
The meeting was attended by six advisers of the government, including the Adviser for the Minis-try of Finance and the Adviser for the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, as well as the Cabinet Secretary, the Principal Secretary, and a total of 14 Secretaries and Senior Secretar-ies of the government.
During the meeting, a total of 11 proposals related to administrative reforms were approved.
The meeting was informed that the Revenue Policy and Revenue Management Ordinance, 2025, has already been promulgated regarding formation of the two divisions under the Finance Minis-try.
The meeting also approved a proposal to restructure the ‘Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’ by merging the ‘Health Services Division’ and the ‘Health Education and Family Welfare Division’.
In addition, a proposal was approved to change the Bangla name of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs to the ‘Nari O Shishu Mantranalay’ from Mohila O Shishu Bishayak Mantranaloy. However, the English name of the ministry-Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MoWCA)-will remain unchanged.
