On the day, the investigation officer of the case, DB Police Inspector Faisal Ahmed, produced the duo before the court after a three-day remand and submitted a petition to record their statements after expressed willingness to give voluntary confessional statements.

The court also sent Sibiun Dew to jail after his remand.

On 14 December, Sanjay Chisim and Sibiun Dew were arrested from the Nalitabari border area in Sherpur for their alleged involvement in aiding the main accused, shooter Faisal Karim Masud, to cross the border.

On 16 December, RAB detained Faisal from the Narsingdi area. They also recovered a pistol and bullets believed to have been used in the murder.

According to police, the weapon was recovered based on information provided by Saheda Parvin Samia, wife of the case’s prime accused and fugitive shooter Faisal Karim Masud.
