Staff Reporter:

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman on Thursday visited the BNP chairperson’s office in Gulshan to express condolences to BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his bereaved family.

Shafiqur Rahman, accompanied by a delegation, went to the BNP chairperson’s office on Thursday evening.

During the visit, he signed the condolence book opened following the death of BNP chairperson and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia and exchanged views with senior BNP leaders.

Earlier, on Tuesday—the day Begum Khaleda Zia passed away—a delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami led by Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher visited the Gulshan office, signed the condolence book, and held discussions with BNP leaders.

On Wednesday, Shafiqur and other top party leaders also attended the funeral prayers (janaza) of the late Begum Khaleda Zia.
