A total of 27 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across the capital to strengthen security surrounding the state funeral, burial and public tributes of former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia yesterday.
According to BGB press release, a sufficient number of personnel have been stationed at several key lo-cations in Dhaka to maintain law and order during the funeral ceremony.
The deployment covers strategic points including Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, Evercare Hospital, Zia Udyan, and surrounding areas.
Authorities said the security measures aim to ensure smooth traffic movement, facilitate public gather-ings, and prevent any untoward incidents.
Law enforcement agencies remain on high alert, with overall security tightened in and around the desig-nated venues.
