Tarique urges party men to work for nation building

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has urged the party leaders and activists to work for rebuilding the nation anew.
“Wherever you stand, let us all strive to rebuild this country together,” he said while addressing the crowd in front of BNP central office in Nayapaltan yesterday.
“Let us exert as much effort as we can. Even if we see a single piece of paper or waste lying on the street, we should remove it. Let us build this nation through these small, collective actions,” added Tarique Rahman.
Requesting prayers for his mother BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, he said, “All of you stay well and please pray for me and for Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia.”
Tarique Rahman visited the Nayapaltan office for the first time in 19 years. Arriving at 4:00 PM, he navigated through a massive crowd of activists to enter the central party office. He proceeded to the sec-ond-floor balcony, where he greeted the supporters waving hands, gave them salute and later addressed them activists for the first time since his return to the country.
Upon his arrival at the BNP central office at 4:00 PM, he was officially welcomed with flowers by the party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Treasurer M. Rashiduzzaman Millat.
Advisor of the BNP Chairperson Abdus Salam, Joint Secretary General of the party Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, Central leaders of various BNP wings and associate organizations and officers and staff of the central office were present at this time.
The party office was colorfully decorated to mark the occasion. Thousands of activists had gathered at Nayapaltan area since morning, displaying immense excitement and energy.
The Chairperson’s Security Force (CSF) maintained a perimeter around the building, while law en-forcement agencies kept a strict vigil over the entire Nayapaltan area. A RAB dog squad was also de-ployed to sweep the central office and its surroundings.
After spending years in exile, Tarique Rahman returned to the country and began his official duties yes-terday (December 28) at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan. Today’s visit to the central office was focused on participating in organizational activities.
