The Election Commission (EC) has revised the schedule for filing and disposing of appeals against returning officers’ decisions on nomination papers in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election.
According to the revised notification, the time for filing appeals has been shortened by two days and will now run from 5 to 9 January, instead of the earlier 5–11 January.
The period for disposal of appeals has been extended by two days and will take place from 10 to 18 January instead of previously announced 12–18 January timeline.
As per the election schedule, nomination papers must be submitted by 29 December, while scrutiny will be conducted from 30 December to 4 January.
The deadline for withdrawal of candidacy is 20 January, followed by symbol allocation on 21 January.
As per the election schedule, the 13th national election and referendum will be held on 12 February, with voting scheduled from 7:30am to 4:30pm using transparent ballot boxes.
Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin announced the election schedule on 11 December, and the Election Commission issued the revised notification on 18 December.
