‘Long March to Border’ for Hadi held at Benapole

Students and general people staged a protest march titled ‘Long March to Border’ at the Benapole international checkpost zero point on Friday, demanding the arrest of the killers of Iquilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.

The protest procession began around 11am from Benapole municipal market area and ended at the Benapole checkpost zero point, where a brief rally was held.

During the rally, protesters chanted slogans for Hadi and his platform, vowing to remain on the streets until the dreams of Hadi are fulfilled.

The programme was led by former teacher Abdur Mannan, local convenor of the student movement.

Speakers at the rally included Dhaka University student Mushfiqur Rahman Sakib, Benapole municipal unit Anti-Discrimination Student Movement convenor Asadullah Al Galib, member secretary Sajedur Rahman Shipu, Jashore district Islami Chhatra Shibir member Rezwan Rahman Akash, and Sharsha upazila Chhatra Shibir president Mehedi Hasan, among others.

The speakers said Hadi had continued his struggle against the Awami League, hegemonic forces and what they termed Indian aggression, and vowed that the movement would continue until the goals are achieved.
