Islambagh fire under control

Firefighters have brought the fire under control that broke out yesterday afternoon at a plastic factory in Chairmanghat of Islambagh in capital’s Lalbagh area.
Eleven fire fighting engines contained the blaze at 4pm yesterday following two and half hours of in-tense efforts, Fire Service and Civi Defence (FSCD) media officer Anwarul Islam confirmed.
Firefighting teams arrived at the spot within 20 minutes after receiving the news of the fire at 1:30 pm yesterday and promptly dispatched rescue units to the scene and immediately began operations to control the blaze.
No casualty was reported in the fire.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage were not immediately known.
