Army pays tribute to martyrs with 31-gun salute on Victory Day

Staff Reporter:
The Bangladesh Army marked Victory Day 2025 with a ceremonial 31-gun salute at sunrise to honour the nation’s martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Liberation War.

The salute was carried out by six guns of an artillery regiment stationed at the Old Airport in Tejgaon area of the capital. Each of the 31 rounds symbolically commemorated the bravery and sacrifice of the freedom fighters, an ISPR press release read on Tuesday.

As in previous years, the day was observed with full respect and enthusiasm, reflecting the nation’s enduring reverence for its heroes and the historic significance of the 1971 victory.
