Tk50 lakh bounty declared to help arrest Osman Hadi’s attacker

Staff Reporter:

Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has announced Tk50 lakh reward for information that helps arrest the attackers of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho and a potential independent candidate for Dhaka-8.

Jahangir Alam made the announcement while speaking to journalists on Saturday (13 December) following a meeting of the Law and Order Core Committee at the ministry conference room in the Secretariat.

Seeking prayer for Osman Hadi, the home adviser said the government has declared a Tk50 lakh reward for anyone who can help identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack.

“Everyone should pray for him. With the prayers of all, he may return to us,” he said.

The adviser also said that the number of arrests of fascist elements must be increased.

He noted that previously, weapons were issued only to government officials. However, candidates participating in the election will now also be eligible to receive licensed firearms if they apply. Any licensed weapons currently deposited with the authorities will be returned to their owners.
