22 high police officers transferred

The government yesterday transferred two deputy inspectors general (DIGs), seven additional DIGs and 13 superintendents of police (SPs) as part of massive reshuffles in field level bureaucracy including po-lice administration.
According to a home ministry notification, Khulna metropolitan police (KMP) commissioner, a DIG by rank, Md Zulfikar Ali Haider was transferred to Industrial Police chief with the same rank.
He was replaced by Gazipur metropolitan police’s (GMP) additional commissioner with the elevated rank of DIG.
Police’s additional DIG in Sylhet range Jesmin Begum was posted to River Police with the same status, Chattogram range’s addl. DIG Wahidul Haq Chowdhury was transferred to Chattogram metropolitan police’s additional commissioner,
Rajshahi metropolitan police’s (RMP) additional commissioner Nazmul Hasan was transferred to Chat-togram Range as additional DIG, Sylhet metropolitan police’s (SMP) additional commissioner M Masud Rana was sent to Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) additional DIG, supernumerary joint commissioner equivalent to additional DIG of Dhaka metropolitan police (DMP) Mohammad Rabiul Hossain Bhuiyan was transferred to Anti Terrorism Unit (ATU) as SP, his original status.
SMP’s supernumerary additional commissioner or additional DIG Md Tarek Ahmed was sent to Special Branch (SB) as an SP and supernumerary additional DIG at Police Headquarters (PHQ) Md Al Mamun was sent to RMP, as an RMP deputy commissioner (DC).
In the same notification, the government cancelled the previous transfer order of Samrat Mohammad Abu Sufian, SP of SB to Police Headquarters asking him to stay in his current position.
Chattogram range SP Kazi Md Abdur Rahim to CMP as a DC, PHQ SP Sakhawat Hossain was sent to criminal investigation department (CID) with the same status, RMP DC Md Mominul Karim to Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) as an SP, supernumerary SP of Police Training Centre, Tangail Md Tariqur Rahman to CID as an additional SP, Tourist Police’s supernumerary SP Mohammad Hasan Iqbal Chowdhury to CMP as additional DC, SMP’s supernumerary SP Md Shahriar Alam to DMP, as addi-tional DC, DMP’s supernumerary SP (DC) of DMP Md Abdul Awal to SMP, as additional DC, Chatto-gram range’s supernumerary SP Nazmun Nahar to Dhaska range as additional SP, Dhaka range’s super-numerary SP Md Tarek Rahman to SB, Dhaka, as additional SP, Khulna range’s SP Kazi Moinuddin to DMP as DC, SMP DC Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman to PBI, as SP and SMP’s supernumerary SP Ah-mad Mainul Hasan to Railway Police as additional SP.
“The transfer orders will come to effect immediately,” said home ministry deputy secretary Md Mahbu-bur Rahman who signed the orders in line with the government.
