Staff Reporter:
There is no link between BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s current critical health conditions and the upcoming general elections, said the party’s Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury on Friday.
Speaking at an event at the Krishibid Institution, Amir Khasru said Khaleda’s illness will in no way impact the election timeline or delay the election date.
Khaleda always fought for democracy and her utmost wish was that people can vote to form the government of their choice, Amir Khasru added.
He also said that all the preparations have been completed for sending the BNP chief to an overseas hospital. As soon as the doctors give the green signal, she would be transported to a hospital in London, Khasru added.
