No mob to be tolerated: DMP

Staff Reporter:

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali said that mob action in any form will no longer be tolerated.
“The instigators of mob violence will be brought to book,” he said while responding to a question after attending a program at the DMP Headquarters in the capital yesterday.
The DMP chief also said that action will be taken if any police officer is found guilty of mishandling a mob situation.
He said one person has already been arrested in connection with the mob that formed during the arrest of former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda from his residence in Uttara on Sunday evening.
The process of filing a case in this regard is underway, he added.
