Mob’s unruly acts not acceptable

Gazipur: Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury yesterday said the unruly acts in the name of ‘mob justice’ carried out during the arrest of former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda or anyone “not acceptable.”
“The incident involving CEC Nurul Huda is completely unacceptable in any manner. The attack on Nu-rul Huda was carried out in the presence of law enforcement personnel. If any member of the law en-forcement agencies is found involved in the incident, legal action will be taken after investigation,” he told reporters after visiting the Horticulture Centre in Mouchak, Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur district.

Mentioning that many local varieties of fruits are disappearing, he called upon all to plant seeds of in-digenous fruits in large numbers.
After visiting the Mouchak Horticulture Centre, the Home Adviser left for Tangail district, where he is scheduled to visit the Police Training Centre (PTC) and hold a meeting with law enforcement agencies and the local administration.
