The government and private offices, including banks, financial institutions and courts, will resume today after a 10-day ever long vacation on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festi-vals of the Muslims.
This year, the government officials and employees got a 10-day vacation as the government announced the vacation from June 5 to June 12, which merged with weekends on June 13 and 14.
Earlier, the government declared June 11 and 12 as public holidays through an executive order. In addi-tion, government offices were remained open on two Saturdays before the Eid-ul-Azha.
As yesterday is the last holiday, many people were observed returning to the capital from villages after enjoying the Eid-ul-Azha vacation with their near and dear ones.
While visiting different bus terminals and railway stations, including Gabtoli, Mohakhali and Sayedabad, and Kamlapur, it was observed that buses carrying passengers from different parts of the country were entering the city. In addition, holidaymakers were also seen returning to the capital by private cars.
Passengers’ pressure was also observed on trains heading to the capital. Although the pressure of passen-gers and private cars was high, no significant suffering has been reported yet.
