Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that there is no restriction on BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman returning to the country.
“Tarique Rahman can come back anytime he wishes,” he said in response to a question from journalists after visiting the Salna Highway Police Station in Gazipur around 12:00 pm on Thursday.
Regarding the ‘push-in’ issue, the adviser said, “Those being pushed in from India are not coming through proper channels. They are being forced in an inhumane manner. The matter has been brought to the attention of the Indian High Commissioner.”
Speaking about the possible spread of the coronavirus by those being pushed in, the adviser said, “We have instructed to enhance awareness at airports and land ports.”
“But the most important thing is personal awareness. Everyone must wear masks and act responsibly,” he added.
