The country’s dengue caseload rose by 288 in the 24 hours till Wednesday morning, but, hopefully, no new death was recorded over the period, says a health department update.
In a press statement issued Wednesday, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said the most number of new dengue patients was reported in the Barishal Division, excluding the city corporation area, at 261.
To this end, the Barishal Division, excluding city areas, accounts for nearly 91% of the total new cases.
During the 24 hours till Wednesday morning, 268 patients were discharged from hospitals upon improvement, taking the total number of recoveries to 4,832 this year.
As of Wednesday, 5,303 people were diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease and 23 died.
