Covid infections reach 13 in 24 hours

The number of Covid-19 patients increased to 13 in the 24 hours till Tuesday afternoon, nearly tripling from the previous day’s caseload.

No deaths were reported during the period, while two recovered from their ailments, said the Directorate General of Health Services in a daily update on Tuesday.

About 100 people were tested for the deadly disease, and 13 tested positive, up from five infections detected among 41 people on Monday.

All the 13 freshly diagnosed patients live in the capital city.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, the infection rate has been 13.05%, and was 12.87% in the latest 24-hour period.
