Hasnat Abdullah, organiser of the National Citizen Party (NCP) for the southern region, has slammed BNP leader Ishraque Hossain for his demand for the resignation of two student representatives, serving as advisers to the interim government.
“Ishraque’s demand is blatantly derogatory. If necessary, we will stand shoulder to shoulder with the army to prevent any attempt to recreate another 1/11 in the country,” he said amid the prevailing chaotic political situation in the country.
Earlier in the day, addressing a programme, Ishraque demanded the resignation of Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain and Information Adviser Mahfuj Alam from all government responsibilities.
In response to the call, Hasnat, in his verified Facebook, wrote that an effort to create another 1/11 in the country is going on and called upon the countrymen to remain alert in a bid to prevent any such attempts.
In the post, he said misinformation is being dished out against the NCP in an organised way, branding the party as anti-election.
At the same time, the political image of the NCP is being tarnished by spreading rumours that the two advisers intend to hang on to power for a long time. Conspiracy is being hatched from all corners in a planned way, he added.
