BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir yesterday urged the party men to remain vigil and stand against any sorts of conspiracy to realize the hopes and aspirations of the people of Bangladesh.
He made the call while virtually presiding over a joint meeting held at BNP Chairperson’s office in Gul-shan here.
Fakhrul, who is now in Bangkok for medical treatment there, said the politics of division has started again and an attempt is being made to create division among the people.
He said BNP always has a great responsibility of establishing democracy and rebuilding Bangladesh.
The BNP secretary general urged the party workers to play a vigilant role to protect the independence, sovereignty and democracy in the country.
Mirza Fakhrul said Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman initiated a campaign to make Bangladesh as a pros-perous and modern country.
Following the meeting, party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed announced an 8-day program marking the martyrdom anniversary of Founder of BNP Shaheed President Ziaur Rah-man.
BNP Joint Secretaries General Khairul Kabir Khokon, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie and Abdus Salam Azad, Publicity Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku and leaders of various organs and associated bodies of the party were present at the press conference.
