NCP launches youth wing ‘Jatiya Jubo Shakti’

Staff Reporter:

The National Citizen Party (NCP) has launched its youth wing ‘Jatiya Jubo Shakti’ with an aim to transform the country’s demographic dividend into a force for progressive change and promises to centre young voices in policy, innovation, and state decision-making.

NCP Joint Chief Coordinator (Youth) Advocate Tariqul Islam has been nominated as the convener and Joint Member Secretary Dr Jahedul Islam has been nominated as the member secretary of the new youth wing.

Engineer Forhad Sohel has been made Chief Organiser of the newly launched wing of NCP.

The youth wing was unveiled at a launching ceremony in front of the banned Awami League’s central office at Shaheed Abrar Fahad Avenue in Dhaka, previously known as Bangabandhu Avenue, on Friday.

“Jatiya Jubo Shakti will emerge as an alternative to traditional youth political wing, which will be working as force committed to addressing the real issues facing young people, including unemployment, lack of access to economic resources, and exclusion from policymaking spaces,” NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari said while announcing the 131-member committee, comprising representatives from all 64 districts.

Besides, NCP Joint Chief Coordinator Tuhin Mahbub has been made as senior joint convener while NCP Joint Chief Coordinator Nahida Bushra and NCP Joint

Chief Organiser Dutee Aranya Chowdhury made senior joint member secretary.

Joint conveners are Pritom Sohagh, Engineer Mohammad Golam Monab, Ashikur Rahman, Kazi Ayesha Ahmed, Hizbur Rahman Bokul, Maruf Al Hamid and Asadur Rahman.

Joint member secretaries are Nishad Ahmed, Rajid Bin Zaman, Mohammad Injamamul Haque Shawon, Mahfuz Lutfor Rahman, Mila Afar, Mohammad Abu Sufian, Mahmud Sultan, Rimi Islam, Khaled Shofikul Islam and Esha Jahan Bindu.

Khaled Mahmud Mostofa was made chief youth development coordinator while Shakil Ahmed Iqbal and Akhter Moni were made joint youth development coordinators.

Besides, Yasin Arafat will be working as senior organiser. However, the name of the full committee will be unveiled later.

NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain said, “This platform will bring a new dimension to politics, supporting training, financial independence, and the development of social values.”

He also said, “India must respect Bangladesh’s democracy. It should sever ties with the Awami League and instead build relations with the people of Bangladesh.”
