President stresses technical, technological education for country’s development

President Abdul Hamid on Tuesday stressed the need for imparting technical and technological education to young generation to ensure the development and progress of the country in the era of the fourth industrial revolution.

President Hamid said this while inaugurating the Virtual Reality ( VR) programme of Bangabhaban Toshakhan Museum at the Bangabhaban cabinet hall.

State Minister for Information Communication and Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak was also present at this time as the special guest.
“How much we can advance the country will depend on the innovation of technology and its proper use. Our young generation is very talented. If they

are given the right opportunities, they can adapt to any environment, ” he said.

He also asked educational institutions, especially those at the higher education level, to take joint initiatives with stakeholders including the Ministry of Education to increase the scope of technology education and research.

Saying that Information technology can become one of the development tools of Bangladesh in Smart Bangladesh, he said, “It is necessary to ensure the proper development of technology in the country by taking various initiatives including advanced training, higher education, basic research opportunities

for the proper development of VR and other technologies.”

“VR technology will truly change the way people live. We have to ensure the proper use of this technology from now on and reap its maximum benefits,” he also said.
After the overall renovation, President Hamid inaugurated the Toshakhana Museum on 24 January 2023.

Later, at the initiative of the Department of Information and Communication Technology and with the technical support of Magic Software Ltd., the initiative was taken to open the museum to the public through VR technology.

Military Secretary to the President Major General SM Salahuddin Islam, Press Secretary of Bangabhaban Zainal Abedin and Secretary of Information and Communication Technology Department Samsul Arefin also spoke on the occasion.
