Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain has said that handing over power to political parties through a free, fair and neutral election is the main goal of the interim government.
“We will step aside after transferring power to political parties through a transparent election. There is no ambiguity about our agenda, ensuring the country’s overall stability remains our top priority,” he said.
The foreign adviser made the comment while addressing a view exchange meeting with freedom fighters, public representatives, political leaders, journalists and civil society members at Belabo Upazila in Narsingdi on Saturday.
About the prevailing bilateral relations with India, he said Bangladesh wants good relations with all countries based on equality and mutual respect and the interim government is working to reach the goal.
“We have already given a clear message to India that we want good relations but it must be based on mutual and equitable interest,” said the foreign adviser.
