5 hurt after BRT crane falls on shops in Tongi

Gazipur: At least five people, including a child, were injured after a crane of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project fell on shops in Tongi Station Road area on Saturday afternoon, said police.
The identities of the injured could not be known immediately, said Asharaful Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Tongi East Police Station.
The accident occurred around 5 pm when a large crane carrying goods for the project overturned and fell on roadside shops, leaving five people injured, he added.
The injured were taken to a local hospital and given first aid.
However, no serious injuries were reported.
