Bullets from Myanmar halt activities at Teknaf port

Cox’s Bazar: Activities at Teknaf land port of Cox’s Bazar have come to a halt yesterday as bullets from conflict-torn Myanmar are falling on the land port.
Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer Adnan Chowdhury confirmed the matter saying that the activities have been suspended following the firing.
Jasim Uddin, manager of the land port, said three bullets from Myanmar border fell on Teknaf land port around 1:30pm.
The first bullet hit the land port office breaking its glass, the second one landed on a truck carrying goods and the third one hit a coconut tree, creating panic among all, he said, adding that all took posi-tion in safer places later.
Locals said bullets from an island of Myanmar have been hitting the bordering areas in Bangladesh as two groups have been clashing there.
