Apart from Nahid Islam and Asif Mahmud, many other students are set to join the interim government to monitor the work of different ministries, two advisers to the government told reporters Friday.
The new student members would assume the roles of “assistant advisers” or something similar for the 17 primarily selected advisers, and the details of their involvement would be decided later, said telecom and ICT adviser Nahid Islam after a meeting with other advisers at state guest house Jamuna.
Notably, Nahid, along with Asif, is one of the key coordinators of the movement that ousted Sheikh Hasina-led government on 5 August.
On Friday, environment and climate change adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan concurred with Nahid telling reporters that student representatives would be involved in all the ministries to help advisers execute their duties.
