The interim government would reform the state apparatus, establish human rights practices, ensure good governance and eradicate discriminations by vested quarters, said Syeda Rizwana Hasan, an adviser to the new government.
The Supreme Court lawyer and environmental activist announced the goals of the interim government after the administration’s swearing-in ceremony at Bangabhaban on Thursday.
Someone has to start these works, and the new interim government has taken the responsibility, she told reporters.
“If our tasks can be executed with integrity and by maintaining relationship with the general people, they can be accomplished. Many other countries have succeeded in ensuring accountability for governments and respect for human rights. We can also achieve these goals.”
