State Minister for Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak publicly apologised before the nation for his failure to ensure uninterrupted internet connection and to prevent rumors on social media.
“I am shouldering all responsibilities for my failure to ensure uninterrupted internet connection and to prevent rumors on social media. I promise to accept any decision if it comes from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for my failure,” he said.
He made the apology during a meeting organised by Singra Upazila unit Awami League at his residence in Natore on Friday afternoon.
“If I have done anything wrong to the younger generation, I apologize publicly,” said the junior minister, adding that a distance has been created with the students and it must be resolved.
Palak made the apology as the student movement gained fresh momentum following a death and numerous injuries in various parts of the country, including Habiganj, Khulna, Sylhet, and Uttara in the capital, Dhaka on Friday.
