Ex-Shibir president, 2 others put on remand

A Dhaka court yesterday placed three people including former president of Islami Chhatra Shibir Rashedul Islam Rashed on seven-day remand in an explosives act.
The two other remanded accused are– Jamaat-e-Islami treasurer Khandaker Mizanur Rahman and execu-tive committee member Mohammad Abdur Rashid.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zaki Al Farabi passed the order as police produced the trio before the court and pleaded to place them on 10-day remand in the case.
Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) on July 27 arrested them from an office in Dhan-mandi and recovered a couple of cocktails and other explosive substances from the place.
