Former Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) president Manzurul Ahsan Khan, who was removed from the post of advisor and whose party membership was suspended for six months for violating party discipline, has been expelled from the party.
Ruhin Hossain Prince, general secretary of the CBP, said in the central committee meeting on February 26 Manzurl was suspended from the advisory post and his party membership was suspended for six months.
Moreover, the committee decided to expel him from the party if he violates the party rules during that period, he said.
“In this continuation, there was a meeting of the Central Committee of our party on July 12 and 13 where he was expelled. He is no longer a member of our party,” the CPB leader informed.
On the other hand, on Sunday Manzurul announced his resignation through a press release. “I resigned from the CPB and sent the resignation letter to the central committee on July 3 and they accepted it.”
