Bogura: Two people were killed when a Naogaon-bound bus ran over them in the Bibir Pukur bus stand area of Bogura-Naogaon highway in Kahalu upazila of Bogura on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Ratna Begum (35), daughter of Wazed Ali from Lohajal village in Kahalu Upazila, and Shawkat Islam Mithu (20), son of Khoda Box from the same village.
According to eyewitnesses, Ratna was waiting on the footpath to drop a relative in the bus and Mithu was waiting to sell milk. At that time, a bus of Shyamoli Paribahan headed for Naogaon hit them on the side of the road and ran away quickly.
Ratna died on the spot and Mithu died on the way to Bogra Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hos-pital.
Selim Reza, Officer-in-Charge of Kahalu Police Station, confirmed the matter and said that since no one filed a case in this regard, the bodies were handed over to the family.
