Traffic becomes easy on Bangabandhu Expressway, Mawa point

Severe traffic gridlock, which had extended from the Dogachhi are of Munshiganj to the district’s Mawa point for entering Padma Bridge on Friday afternoon, eased within an hour.

The easing of the gridlock, caused by a rapid surge in village-bound journeys ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, ended the fears of a highly unexpected but prolonged tailback along the Padma Bridge.

Earlier in the morning, a truck stuck at the weight scale of the bridge’s toll plaza added to the crisis.
