Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has launched a shuttle bus service from Tongi to Uttara’s Diabari Metrorail Station.
Gazipur-2 lawmaker Md Zahid Ahsan Russell inaugurated the shuttle service at Station Road area of Tongi on Thursday.
BRTC sources said they would operate shuttle buses on this route from 7:00am to 8:00pm every day. With starting point at Tongi Station Road, this route will gradually be expanded to Farmgate via Diabari, they said.
Mohammad Nizam Uddin, general manager (training & operations) of BRTC, said with 11 shuttle buses released Thursday nearly one lakh passengers would enjoy this service daily.
Every 10 minutes, a bus would depart from the station carrying passengers, he added.
