2 die as pickup truck overturns in Madaripur

Madaripur: Two people, including the driver of a pickup truck died and two pedestrians were alos injured when the vehicle overturned in Madaripur on Monday.
The accident happened around 7:30 am in the Pakhira area of the Sadar upazila. 
The deceased were identified as Mahindra driver Enamul Hossain (25) and driver’s assistant Arif Shikder (17). Enamul was the son of Siraj Ali Mira of Lahuria area of Lohagarha upazila in Narail district and Arif was the son of Anwar Shikder of Madhyachak village in Sadar upazila of Madaripur.
AHM Salauddin, officer-in-charge of Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station, confirmed the matter.
Eyewitnesses said that in the morning, Enamul was taking the pickup truck out of Faruk Hawladar’s garage in Pakhira area with his assistant Arif to go to work. At that time, the Mahindra lost control and overturned. Enamul and his assistant Arif died on the spot. 
Two pedestrians who were standing by the road were also injured. Police later recovered the bodies and sent them to the district Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.
The bodies will be handed over to the family after legal proceedings are completed, added the OC.
