Members Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two life-term sentenced convicts in a narcotics case from Tongi Purbo Thana area last night.
The arrested persons were identified as- Md Monirul Islam, 35, of Rajshahi Poba Thana area and Md Masud Rana, 21, hailing from Mymensingh’s Haluaghat.
On a tip-off, members of RAR-2 conducted a drive in Tongi Purbo Thana area in Gazipur and arrested them around 8:00pm last night, RAB senior assistant director (Media) Senior ASP Shihab Karim told yesterday.
“On June 28, 2018, they were arrested with 195 bottles of Phensidyl. A case was filed with Uttara West Thana in this regard. They were absconding after securing bail,” he said.
They were handed over to Uttara West Thana yesterday, the RAB official said.
